Ecolsport is Prismi’s professional range of SBR and EPDM colored rubber infill granules for artificial grass pitches, produced in Italy since 1997.

Available in seven grades : Ecolmix, Ecolgreen, Ecolgreen K (Lab FIFA-certified NF P90-112), Ecolbrown, Camouflage, Infill Black Classic and Infill Tyre Classic — with particle size 1 to 2.5 mm for 40, 50 and 60 mm pile height artificial turf. 

Are produced from pre-consumer virgin rubber, free from PAH compounds, steel wire and nitrosamines. UVA stability certified at 5,000 hours.

Ecolsport Refiller | rubber infill for worn and fibrillated synthetic turf

Ecolsport Refiller is a specialist rubber infill granule (0.5–1.5 mm) developed to restore performance in worn, fibrillated or flattened synthetic turf without full pitch replacement.

Its optimized particle size allows easy incorporation into compressed fibres that standard 1–2.5 mm infill cannot penetrate.

After refilling with Ecolsport Refiller, the elasticity and ball-response characteristics of the pitch return to near-original specification, extending pitch life by approximately 30%.

FAQ | Rubber infill for artificial grass sport field

SBR (styrene-butadiene rubber) infill is the most widely used and cost-effective option for artificial grass, offering good resilience and durability. EPDM (ethylene-propylene-diene monomer) infill offers superior UV and temperature resistance, better elasticity retention over time, and is the preferred choice for high-performance pitches in hot climates or indoor facilities. Prismi’s Ecolsport range includes both SBR and EPDM grades to match your specification and budget.

Yes. Prismi Ecolgreen K is certified according to the FIFA Quality System (NF P90-112), the international standard for artificial football pitch infill materials. It holds 5,000-hour UVA light stability certification and FIFA Quality Pro accreditation. Infill Black Classic is also FIFA-certified NF P90-112. Technical certificates are available on request.

For a standard 40 mm pile height football pitch, approximately 8–10 kg of rubber infill per square meter is required. For 50 mm pile height, the requirement increases to 12–15 kg per square meter. Prismi has published a detailed position on microplastics (see our 2024 blog post). SBR rubber infill granules are elastomeric particles above 1 mm in size — substantially larger than the microplastic threshold of <5 mm as they degrade only slowly. Prismi’s non-tyre-derived grades eliminate tyre-specific chemical contaminants. We recommend periodic field maintenance and perimeter barriers to reduce granule migration. It is specifically designed to penetrate flattened, fibrillated or worn fibres that standard infill cannot re-enter. Using Refiller on a worn pitch can extend its operational life by approximately 30%, significantly reducing replacement costs.
